Here you can learn about resin, features, benefits and how we work with clients to create beautiful resin driveways.
Why choose resin for your driveway or patio?
What is a resin bound driveway?
Resin Driveways are constructed of small gravel like stones that are bound together to form a hard, seamless surface. It has the same permeable abilities as gravel, but without the movement and constant need to rake. Resin bound driveways are building regulations approved.
Resin driveways are unlikely to suffer from weeds, nor will UV light damage or change its colour. Resin can sometimes be installed over existing tarmac or block paving surfaces.
It can be laid in a huge variety of colours and you can have different paterns or colours for paths. The 3 major benefits of resin are:
Maintenance free
Resin is completely maintenance free. If you have vegetation nearby, it may just need the odd sweep of those leaves and it’s back to new again.
Anti-slip surface
Resin is a non-slip and completely flat surface. It’s a great choice for the elderley or for persons who need walking assistance.
Completely porous
One of the great benefits of resin is no puddles because it is completely porous.

Resin Bound Surfaces
We install Resin Bound surfaces that are fully compliant with UK Building Regulations.
Resin is a highly porous surface that allows water to pass through it at a rate of approx 850litres per min, per sqm. This rate is substantially greater than rainfall (even with climate change) so your driveway is most unlikely to form puddles. It meets building regulations because it allows water to naturally drain into the sub-soil underneath the driveway, thus preventing excess water from entering storm drains, and causing rivers to flood.
Whilst tarmac and block paving are somewhat porous, they often cannot cope with high volume of rainfall, therefore water ends up running into the road and entering storm drains. With more and more households requiring larger drives, a resin bound driveway is the ideal surface.
- Resin offers truly bespoke driveways that can feature different colours
 - Resin provides a seemless design
 - Resin Bound is porous/permeable and therefore puddle free

Resin Bound Driveway: FAQ's

Resin can be used on a variety of existing surfaces, including concrete, asphalt, and brick. If we are widening or extending a driveway, you are likely to need a new sub-base.
We only install UV stable resin. This kind of gravel resin doesn’t fade or discolour over time, so your drive will hold its colour for years to come..
No. Resin is porous so it allows water to pass through it.
Yes, see image for examples of colour schemes.
Unlike concrete, resin will not crack overtime. It’s a great surface to use in the UK, that’s why all the DIY TV programmes use it.

Louise Underwood
Customer
“Tom and all the other lovely guys at Prestige have done a fantastic job on our driveway and fencing. They turned up when they said they would and on time, left everything clean and tidy and kept us informed at all times. I knew it was going to be a great job because they did my sisters driveway, but it’s even better than I imagined. We’re so so chuffed with it. Love the fact that they don’t ask for a penny off you until the work is done and you’re happy. That makes a refreshing change. We would recommend”

Customer
“We have just had our large resin driveway installed by prestige and its fantastic, the lads were hard clean working team who answered any questions we had politely. I would recommend them to anybody and what a nice touch it was not to be asked for money up front and not hounded for payment as soon as they finished. Well done Jonny, Simon, Tom and team.”
